Creating the Extraordinary Student Experience

Satisfactory Academic Progress

The Student Advocacy Center can assist students who are preparing appeals of Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).  Ohio State may not disburse financial aid to students who are not meeting SAP guidelines.  In order to be SAP compliant, students must meet the following standards:

  • Required cumulative GPA
  • Required percentage of hours to complete annually
  • A maximum time frame for completion of degree requirements

Because many students rely on financial aid in order to attend Ohio State, it is critical that they remain in SAP compliance to preserve their aid.  If a student is not meeting one or more of the requirements, they may appeal for conditional eligibility while they work to regain SAP compliance.
